Was Trump Even Speaking
Yet?
According to an interview with
Sund by Washington
Post, the “first wave of
protesters arrived at the Capitol
about 12:40 p.m.”
“As soon as they
hit the fence line, the fight was
on,” Sund said, adding, “I
realized at 1 p.m., things aren’t
going well … I’m watching my
people getting slammed.”
Trump’s speech lasted
from 12:00 p.m. to 1:11p.m., his
inducement to “fight like hell”
coming at the end, around 1:10
p.m.
Based on Chief Sund’s
timeline, the riot at the Capitol
began more than thirty minutes
before Trump finished his speech,
and long before he made the only
comment that Democrats pointed to
in order to back up their baseless
claim that the president
“encouraged” insurrection.
